Moisture protection

In interior insulation: Multipor interior insulation systems with no vapor barrier

In interior insulation, the condensation that forms within the mineral insulation board in the course of use is absorbed by the cell walls of the entrapped and thermally insulating air pores, then transferred back into the ambient air by the natural drying behavior of the mineral-based material (capillary action). At the same time, the thermal insulation value is maintained. By this natural method, the humidity of a living area is controlled without the use of an elaborate and error-prone vapor barrier.

In exterior insulation Multipor external thermal insulation composite system as algae protection

For exterior insulation, Multipor external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS)is the perfect choice. The mineral insulation board absorbs the moisture caused by rain or condensation and stores it like a kind of buffer. Moisture never remains on the surface, thus minimizing the risk of fungi and algae growth. Multipor reinforcement mortar ensures that the moisture buffered in the topcoat does not penetrate to the insulation layer.  Instead, the topcoat dries out again during rain and condensation-free periods of the day.

Also, due to its relatively large mass, the Multipor mineral insulation board has a high heat storage capacity. The stored heat, e.g. from solar radiation, raises the temperature on the exterior surface of the ETICS, leading to the evaporation of the surface moisture The result is the same: Algae and fungi don't stand a chance.
