New plaster and mortar plant opened in Italy

Together with high-level representatives from politics and business, we opened our new plant for the production of high-quality mortar and interior wall plaster in Pontenure, Italy. The sustainability experts present, including CasaClima Energy Ageny and the CasaClima Network Piemonte and Valle d'Aosta, positively highlighted the high energy efficiency and environmental standards of the new production facility.

Xella products are thus manufactured not only from natural raw materials, but also in accordance with environmentally friendly and sustainable production processes. Due to their sustainable materials, Xella products are recyclable and can be returned to the production process at the end of their life cycle.

The new plant covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters and is built according to industry 4.0 standard. The production capacity is approximately 17.5 tons/hour.

Due to its thickness, the interior plaster produced in Pontenure can be applied by only a few millimeters with a total thickness of 2 to 20 mm, thus half of normal plaster. Accordingly the working time - with a significant reduction in laying and drying times compared to traditional plasters - can be shortened and the building and material costs can be lowered clearly.

With the opening of the new plant and the production of highest quality mortar and plaster for AAC, Xella emphasizes its position as one of the leading providers of integrated system solutions for our customers. One part of it are also our Multipor solutions.
